Geosciences and reservoir, lift, and flow engineering play a fundamental role in generating value in oil and gas assets, especially in mature fields, where approximately 70% of discovered volumes remain to be recovered. This session will discuss technical and regulatory aspects, as well as recent technologies applied to the revitalization of these assets, with case studies of the post-salt layer of the Campos Basin (Albacora Leste, operated by PRIO) and the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin (Tupi, operated by Petrobras).

Session 1 “Increasing Reservoir Recovery Factor”

Monitoring the reservoir recovery factor is an essential practice in managing offshore fields. It involves continuously analyzing geological, operational, and economic information to optimize resources, reduce costs, and minimize losses and inefficiencies, thereby maximizing the value of concessions. The timing of the evaluation and application of new technologies and the acquisition of geophysical data allows for the reduction of production decline and the life extension of reservoirs and installed equipment. All these actions enable the projection of necessary revitalization investments, the negotiation of concession terms, and the postponement of the decommissioning of mature concessions.

Sessão 4 “Maximizando valor de campos maduros por meio de soluções submarinas”

Os campos maduros concentram parte expressiva do parque instalado de sistemas de produção offshore e apresentam grande potencial para projetos de revitalização. O reaproveitamento destes sistemas ou mesmo a integração e sinergia com novos projetos podem reduzir os custos e estender a produção destes campos.

O sistema submarino representa aproximadamente um terço do custo de um projeto offshore de desenvolvimento da produção e pode ser o grande catalisador e viabilizador dos projetos de revitalização de campos maduros. A sessão subsea do WCMO é o locus perfeito para discutirmos, com a comunidade submarina as possibilidades de alavancarmos soluções e inovações para sobrepujar os desafios de continuar a produzir maximizando a redução de custos e o fator de recuperação de jazidas.

Sessão 5 “Tupi, o supergigante há 15 anos produzindo!”
O Campo Gigante de Tupi, na bacia de Santos, com reservatórios carbonáticos em águas ultra profundas, atingiu neste ano de 2024 a significativa marca de maior volume de produção acumulada de óleo do Brasil (>2,6 bilhões de bbl, fonte: ANP). 

Nesta sessão serão apresentados os esforços e iniciativas que vem sendo implementadas para maximizar a recuperação de óleo, passando por lições aprendidas, novas tecnologias e o Plano Diretor da Jazida de Tupi. Ao final, acontecerá uma mesa redonda entre operador e parceiros do consórcio deste importante ativo, com interação com os participantes em uma sessão de perguntas e respostas.

Sessão 3 “Subsea e Poços com soluções mais eficientes e de menor custo”
Desenvolvimento de Campos adjacentes através de “tie-back”, implantação de sistemas “booster”, são alguns exemplos de estratégias da área submarina que serão tratadas nesta sessão. Equipamentos e novas tecnologias que permitam realizar operações de perfuração e completação de poços de forma mais eficiente e menor custo também serão discutidos. Os estudos de Geociências são essenciais para agregar reservas e produção em Campos Maduros, como o nível de conhecimento sobre os reservatórios já é grande, análises e reinterpretação de sísmica 4D entre outras técnicas trazem grandes potenciais de ganhos com pouco risco. Nesta sessão serão debatidas melhores práticas, casos já implementados e novas tecnologias.
